Native Americans: Uranium Mining/ Nuclear Testing/ Nuclear Dumping

What can you do to help?

It is important to keep in mind that the decisions we make in life have the ability to affect another group of people in a positive or negative way. For Belgium, in the case of energy, the choice between how much we use and where it comes from has a direct and substantial impact on Native Americans suffering the consequences of uranium mining. A percentage of Belgian nuclear power is fuelled by American uranium. If the amount of nuclear power produced in Belgium was to decrease, the amount of uranium mining and processing in the USA and world-wide would also decrease. It takes these small steps to make a difference. By choosing clean and renewable energy sources over nuclear energy and being contentious of the amount of energy used every day, it is possible to steadily decrease the dangers of uranium and nuclear energy.

As for the situations involving nuclear dumping and testing, please check out www.shundahai.org for up-to-date news on what is happening, and actions that you can take part in. If you would like to receive an email announcement whenever you’re participation in an action is needed, please email Lieve De Kinder at lieve@motherearth.org
